Before silver nanowire meshes can be widely applied, critical issues including surface morphology, mechanical adhesion and flexibility need to be addressed, even though sheet resistance and optical transmittance have been demonstrated comparable to those of sputter-deposited indium tin oxide thin films. Here the authors show low temperature solution-processed flexible metal nanowire networks embedded in a conductive metal oxide nanoparticle matrix. The optical, electrical, chemical and mechanical properties of the structure are fully discussed.
