In this paper, the author obtained regular arrays of high quality nanostructure of bismuth telluride nanocrystals by low pressure chemical vapor deposition with a new kind of precursor. The high degree of positional control, and that the preferred orientation of the nanocrystals is strongly governed by the dimensions of the underlying micro- or nano-patterned substrate. This may inspire the synthesis of
nanocrystalline arrays of other key semiconductor materials.
