Nomination text:
In this article the experimenters demonstrate new techniques that allow them to apply the full set of deterministic Gaussian operators on non-classical, non-Gaussian states, thereby expanding the toolbox for hybrid quantum information processing. Experimentally, it has been considered very difficult to apply a quantum optical squeezing operation upon these states, thus making this new technique of great importance, particularly for the construction of quantum gates and error correction codes for logical qubits.
